Writing a Senior Thesis
The Senior Thesis counts as one course toward graduation. The work is done over two semesters, with credit conditional upon successful completion of the thesis in the spring. The grade covering the entire year's work will be assigned at that time. There is no set, required length for the project, but approximately 40-60 pages is standard. The thesis will count as your senior exercise. If you write a thesis, you are required to take only one 170 seminar. If you drop the thesis after fall semester, you must then take a second 170 seminar as your senior exercise.
Important Dates for 2007-2008
• April 16, 2007 - Thesis proposal due
• September 24, 2007 - Revised proposal and annotated bibliography due
• October 29, 2007 - Expanded proposal due
• April 4, 2008 - Thesis due
The thesis seminar meets at 1:15 most Fridays.
